Description

In prenatal and perinatal therapy, we explore the lifelong impact of our earliest conscious awareness that begins in the womb and during the first months after birth. We seek to understand our primary experiences at birth and the way we attach to our mother, father and the world around us. These have an incredible effect on shaping our adult lives. This fundamental initial imprint at our early stages of life profoundly impacts our perception of the world. Using different methods, we will work with your body’s memories of your infancy, connecting with a conscious presence to regain integration and safety for your adult body and mind. The initial work starts by reorienting you in the here and now. We help you rediscover coherence, stabilisation, recognition of early experiences and memory recall. Body Dreaming® or Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Therapy enable the access of unconscious processing. We support the integration of the mind, body, heart and soul. Through inquiry and facilitation, we start exploring early-age experiences, titrating in a soft and gentle way. Developing a conscious presence is the key to shifting and recognising different sensory states of being during exploration. Our body is formed in relation to our mother and our birth. Through our initial senses, we start connecting to the world beyond the placenta. Babies have experiences in utero – learning, exploring and feeling. The experiences of our mother/birthing parent also influence the creation of our brain and body. The first seven years of life are paramount in the development of our brain, heart and ego psychology. We also cover survival, building resilience with bottom-up somatic therapy – slowly, gently and lovingly. As we progress in our somatic implicit memory recognition, we can then access ancestral healing at different levels of perception and/or past lives experiences. It becomes a multidimensional healing process. Persistent imprints from prenatal and perinatal traumas are often implicit somatic memories, with a tendency towards global high-intensity activation in the central nervous system. When the time is ripe for healing to happen, conditions will occur to trigger it. We work with conditions arising in the present that are connected to your body’s memory.

This can be long-term symptoms such as anxiety, migraines, heart dysregulation, allergies, attachment and relational difficulties, and emotional difficulties such as persistent low self-esteem.
